The 5th IFM Colloquium aims to present the most recent studies on synaptic signal integration and transduction in neurons and link them to neural circuit activity and animal behavior. The colloquium will be subdivided into two sessions. The first session will examine the recent advances in our understanding of synaptic integration, while the second session will be devoted to the development of cortical circuits and their activity during sensing and action. In addition, two keynote lectures given by Eve Marder and Massimo Scanziani will focus on computations in neural networks. This single day event will thus bring together in Paris a diversity of international investigators who are at the forefront of their field making use of cutting-edge techniques. We will strive to foster future collaborations by promoting interaction between speakers and attendees both during the sessions and the ensuing free time.
